  1. The S&P 500 lost 0.8% in November, bringing its year-to-date gain to 23.0%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 3.5% for the month and has returned 14.5% year-to-date. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 2.0% in November, bringing its year-to-date gain 25.9%.

  2. Non-US stocks were down in November. The MSCI EAFE index of developed countries was down 4.5% in November while the MSCI Emerging Markets index was down 4.1%. The U.S. dollar was up 2.4% for the month.
